The programs offered in the Adkerson School of Accountancy include the Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Masters of Professional Accountancy and Masters of Taxation. Enrollment in one of these programs provides access to highly-qualified faculty, a network of successful alumni, top firms and businesses, a career center, internships, and professional organizations that will enhance students’ preparation for careers in accounting. High placement rates of our students with the big four, regional firms, and government and industry are a testament to the success of our academic programs.
The undergraduate and graduate programs in the Adkerson School of Accountancy are separately accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International, the hallmark of excellence in business and accounting education. This designation places the School in the top three percent of accounting programs in the world. The 2018 CCH Public Accounting Report ranks the School’s undergraduate and graduate accounting programs in the top 10 for programs with 16 or fewer faculty. Students can take comfort in knowing that the accounting programs at Mississippi State University maintain rigorous quality standards that ensure they will be taught the most current knowledge and skills required by employers.
Our faculty are actively engaged in scholarly research, the accounting profession, and the academic preparation of students. The faculty are currently revising the undergraduate and graduate curriculums that will provide students with the data and analytics skillsets required to be successful in a profession that continues to evolve. You will not find a more qualified faculty anywhere who truly care about the success of their students. The faculty bring various levels of expertise and research interest to the School, and are essential to building quality academic programs and moving the School to the next level of excellence.
