The Dividends Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from MSU's College of Business. Each episode gives you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students and alumni.

In this episode, Jeffrey Rupp walks us through the MSU Idea Shop, located on Main Street. Rupp explains that the College of Business wanted to take the success of the E-Center on campus and implement it into the community. Mississippi State is a land-grant university, and this is a way that the college wanted to give back and provide opportunity to the people of Starkville. At the Idea Shop, individuals can come in and make their ideas a reality. The space is fully equipped with a wood shop, 3D printers, engravers, etc. The provide monthly memberships or a daily fee if someone would like to come in and use the space. They also provide classes to promote creativity and learning for students, adults, and children.

Rupp also introduces us to a new faculty member of the Department of Management & Information Systems in the College of Business. Dr. Erik Markin explains why he was drawn to Starkville and decided to embark his next journey at Mississippi State University. He and his family are very excited about the move to Starkville and all the opportunity this town can bring them. Rupp and Markin will be working on a capstone consulting class for the MBA students at MSU, and Markin explains the high points of the class. He hopes that with this class they will be able to guide local entrepreneurs implement solutions that will help them achieve their goals and aspirations.
