COB Dividends Show - December 2019

The Dividends Show is a monthly program dedicated to bringing you all the latest news and information from Mississippi State University's College of Business. Each episode will give you an inside look at the College's programs and events, history, faculty, students, and alumni.

In this episode, Dividends Show host Jeffrey Rupp speaks with student entrepreneur and founder of Street BEETs, Madison Kate Dyer. Street BEETs is a company that uses sugar beet juice to reduce the formation of ice on unwanted surfaces. Although sugar beets are typically grown in the North, they can also be grown in Mississippi. Dyer explains how she got the idea from her relatives in Alaska who use sugar beet juice on their car tires and car windows. Dyer also explains that through the help of the E-Center she has made many connections and had mentors to help her start her company. We also speak with returning guest Michael Lane, the program coordinator for the MSU Idea Shop. The Idea Shop is about bringing concepts to reality, and ultimately into the hands of customers, all in one building. Located in a retail store on Main Street in Starkville, MS, the facility houses the Turner A. Wingo Maker Studio and the MSU Retail Product Accelerator. Since The Idea Shop's opening, it has been a huge success and now has roughly 20 vendors in their Retail Product Accelerator. For more information, visit: https://ecenter.msstate.edu/programs/...
