The Bulldog Business Show - November 1, 2025

In this episode, we spotlight the launch of the new Entrepreneurship major in the Mississippi State University College of Business and the exciting opportunities it offers for future innovators and business leaders.

First, we share updates from Club 1915’s recent alumni networking event in Birmingham, where College of Business graduates reconnected and heard the latest news from Dean Scott Grawe, Dr. Shawn Mauldin, and Dr. Kathleen Thomas. We also highlight the newest edition of Dividends, the College’s annual magazine featuring stories of student success, alumni achievements, and faculty impact.

Then we sit down with Dr. Erik Markin, Associate Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship Major Coordinator, to explore how this hands-on program equips students with the mindset, tools, and real-world experiences to launch new ventures, lead family businesses, and drive innovation in established organizations.

Dr. Markin also discusses the program’s creative learning environments—from courses taught in the Idea Shop and E-Center to opportunities for prototyping, venture development, and the new Entrepreneurship Living Learning Community in Davenport Hall.

Plus, hear how the College of Business is fostering an entrepreneurial ecosystem that empowers students from all disciplines to turn ideas into impact.
