JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The president and CEO of The Peoples Bank in Ripley has been elected chairwoman of the Mississippi Bankers Association for 2018-2019.
Mary Childs will chair the association's MBA Board of Directors and Executive Committee.
The Ripley native becomes the first woman ever elected to lead the MBA in its 129-year history.
The MBA is a statewide trade association whose membership includes commercial banks and savings institutions operating in Mississippi.
Childs joined The Peoples Bank in 1990. She has 38 years of experience in the financial services industry, with 28 years served at The Peoples Bank.
Childs is a 1980 graduate of Mississippi State University's College of Business.
