The College Of Business at Mississippi State University welcomes David Liebetreu, Vice President of Global Sourcing for International Paper, who will speak on Friday, November 11, 2016. The tentative schedule for Mr. Liebetreu is as follows:

9:00-9:45 a.m.- student roundtable discussion
10:00-11:00 a.m.- Mr. Liebetreu to speak in Principles of Marketing class in Taylor Auditorium. **Open for ALL students to attend.**
David Liebetreu joined IP in 1992 after 12 years of service in the U.S. Army. He spent his first 8 years in primary manufacturing at International Paper mills in Arkansas, Maine and New York. He served as mill manager at the Hudson River mill for four years. His subsequent roles included Executive Assistant to the CEO; manufacturing director for the Foodservice business and vice president, Forest Resources. Dave assumed the role of vice president, Global Sourcing, in 2008.
As the vice president of the Global Sourcing organization, Dave provides leadership for the strategic purchasing of virgin and recycled fiber, raw materials, energy, capital and repair materials and corporate services (such as information technology and health care). In total, the team manages over $14 billion dollars in annual spend.
Dave’s scope of responsibilities includes operations in North America, Brazil, India, Europe and Russia, the Middle East and Africa. Key focus areas include global governance of sourcing processes, supply chain sustainability and internal and external stakeholder relationship management. He leads a global team consisting of more than 500 sourcing professionals.
He serves on IP’s global supply chain council, supply chain people councils and global manufacturing council. He is a lead sponsor for the company’s energy council and serves on the board of directors of ArborGen, a global leader in tree seedling production for the forest products industry.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., and his master’s degree from the University of Michigan.
