Department of Management & Information Systems

Department of Management & Information Systems

At Mississippi State University, the Department of Management & Information Systems equips students with the skills to lead people, improve systems, and launch new ideas. We offer undergraduate degrees in Management, Entrepreneurship, and Business Information Systems, each designed to develop critical thinking, strategic insights and practical experiences across today's evolving business landscape.

Students gain a strong foundation in areas like leadership, human resources, entrepreneurship, analytics, cybersecurity, and strategic management - all while working with faculty who bring both academic and excellence and real-world expertise into the classroom.

The department is also home to the Center of Family Enterprise Research (COFER), a national leader in research and outreach for family-owned firms. COFER produces The Family Business Bulletin, a quarterly publication that translates insights into practical guidance for family enterprises across Mississippi and beyond. Our faculty are among the world's top scholars in family business research and are deeply connected to Mississippi's entrepreneurial and business communities.

At MSU, you'll gain the tools to lead with confidence, think with precision, and create what's next.
