Admissions

Admissions to the International Business Program are limited and competitive. The academic qualifications of applicants are evaluated by the International Business Academic Program Committee before admission to the program is granted. Neither foreign language fluency nor international experience is required for admission.

Evaluation of applicants for fall admission will begin in October. Prospective students will receive a formal letter in the mail from Dr. Travis Wiseman, program director, stating the status of the student’s admission to the program. Students not initially admitted to the program, or current MSU students wishing to transfer into the program, may (re)apply for admission after demonstrating 30 or more hours of sustained academic success at Mississippi State.

To apply to the International Business Program, you do not have to complete a separate application. Students interested in applying to the program, must indicate the International Business program as their primary concentration on the admissions application.

Select one of the following when you complete the university admissions application:

  1. College – Adkerson School of Accountancy; Major – PACC (Pre-Accounting); Primary Concentration – International Business
  2. College – College of Business; Major – BUAD (Business Administration), BIS (Business Information Systems), ECON (Economics), FIN (Finance), MKT (Marketing), or MGT (Management); Primary Concentration – International Business

International students must submit an acceptable score on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The University minimum is 525 for paper-based tests, or 197 for computer-based tests.
