COB Student Alexander Willoughby Places 1st in Beta Alpha Psi's 2014 Project Run With It Campaign
10-20-14 - College of Business student Alexander Willoughby recently represented MSU's Beta Kappa Chapter of Beta Alpha Psi in the 2014 Project Run With It (PRWI) competition during this year's Annual Meeting in Atlanta. He and his three teammates were awarded first place for their presentation offering business solutions to CaringWorks,Inc.— a non-profit agency working to end homelessness by facilitating access to housing and relevant supportive services.
PRWI furthers the community service component of BAP and provides members/candidates with an opportunity to engage in a real-world consulting project.
Each year, PRWI involves 72 BAP student representatives working together during the annual meeting to develop solutions to real life business problems of actual not-for-profit (NFP) organizations located in the area where the annual meeting is being held.
Working in 18 teams of four, the students are given the equivalent of one and one-half working days to develop a formal presentation showcasing their solution to the business issues presented by the NFPs in their request for proposal for consulting services.
The Project, sponsored by Moss Adams LLP, awarded Willoughby with a plaque which included his name and MSU's Beta Kappa Chapter name, as well as a monetary chapter award of $1,000.
