Opportunity to Manage a $500,000 Stock Portfolio for the TVA - Deadline April 17
4-9-14 - The Department of Finance & Economics is now accepting applications from students interested in managing a $500,000 stock portfolio for the Tennessee Valley Authority. As a member of the TVA Investment Challenge Panel, you will be responsible for selecting the stocks and carrying out all trades. In addition, you will have the opportunity to meet with investment professionals and learn details about how they evaluate stocks and manage their portfolio risk. You will also have the chance of being selected to represent MSU at an investment forum in New York City in Spring 2015.
There are no course requirements to join the TVA Investment Challenge Panel, but students interested in pursuing a career in investments will be given preference, regardless of their major. Accepted students will be asked to sign-up for a 1 credit hour course in Fall 2014 and a 2 credit hour course in Spring 2015. Times for the course will be chosen to accommodate all the panel's members.
Interested students should fill out the attached application and return it to the Department of Finance & Economics in 312 McCool. Be sure to return the application by Thursday, April 17, as interviews will begin on April 22nd.
