2009 GMAC TeamMBA Service Award for Philanthropy

The Mississippi State MBA Association was recently recognized in Baltimore, MD by the General Management Admissions Council for their entry into the GMAC TeamMBA Community Service Competition. The Association was awarded the TeamMBA 2009 Service Award for Philanthropy.

2009-2010 FOBI Research Scholars

Kaustav Misra, Dr. James Chrisman, and Esra Memili were recently named 2009-2010 Family Owned Business Institute Research Scholars. Their winning submission examines managerial compensation decisions of small and medium-sized family firms concerning non-family managers.

2009 Mississippi State University Graduate Service Award

Will Clark, a current graduate student in our Master of Public Accountancy program, received the 2009 Graduate Service Award for his exceptional assistance ability and high productivity level. Mr. Clark serves as the Web Coordinator for the Adkerson School of Accountancy.

Captain William Sorrells, a 2005 graduate of our MBA and MSIS programs, recently published an article in and made the cover of "ADVANCE for Health Information Executives" magazine. His article addresses the use of computer networking systems to connect the harsh and geographically separated landscapes of Alaska for the purposes of providing healthcare in remote regions. Capt. Sorrells and a team of U.S. Air Force medics participated in implementing this technology in these remote regions of Alaska.
