Transfer Information

Transfer Admission (less than 60 semester hours)

To enter as a transfer student with less than 60 semester hours, students wishing to pursue degree programs in business must meet the MSU standards for admissions posted in the current Bulletin of Mississippi State University. Freshmen transfer students (less than 30 semester hours) must have achieved a 2.00 GPA. Sophomore transfer students (30-59 semester hours) must have achieved a 2.25 GPA.

Transfer Admission (60 or more semester hours)

To enter as a transfer student with 60 or more semester hours, students wishing to pursue degree programs in business must meet university standards for admissions posted in the current Bulletin of Mississippi State University. In addition, a student must have achieved a 2.50 GPA. Entering transfer students meeting these requirements, will be formally admitted into the BBA degree program with a major of economics, finance (including the risk management and insurance concentration), marketing (including PGA golf management and supply chain management concentrations), management, business information systems, or business administration. International Business Program

Graduates from the International Business program typically complete their studies in five years, receiving two degrees – one in business and one in a foreign language - each designed to cover a separate aspect of living and working internationally. IB transfer students that meet hour requirements, ACT, and GPA standards major in a specific business discipline such as accounting, business administration, business information systems, economics, finance, management, or marketing along with a concentration in international business. *Note: It is key for transfer students to have completed the language requirements in line with the IB curriculum during freshman and sophomore years.
